Robert A. Howrey, 51, of 310 5th Avenue S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died in Living Center West, Saturday, April 21, 2007, following a lengthy illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Kathryn Howrey of Cedar Rapids; his daughter, Kelly Konicek of Cedar Rapids; son, Corey Howrey of Cedar Falls; grandson, Anthony Smith; brothers, Bill (Vicki) Howrey of Washington, Iowa and Colin (Robin) Howrey of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Lonnie (Garland) Alff of Cedar Rapids, Mary Ann (Denny) Donels of Cedar Rapids and Nancy (Brad) Jones of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde; nephew, Shawn Jones; and loving pets, Bandit and Snowflake.
Robert was born September 17, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Clyde and Kathryn (Kreutzer) Howrey. He married Debbie Wilsey in 1976 and Geri Shultz in 1979. He worked in a warehouse for 20 years.
He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Cubs, Vikings, Hawkeyes and Jeff Gordon #24 among many.
Robert was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
