Robert Marlyn Henderson

Robert M. Henderson, 59, of 5395 Winnebago Ave., Marion, died Thursday, January 15, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, from complications of a heart attack. Private family services were held. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Holly Henderson; his mother, Catherine Henderson; brothers Rick Henderson, Ronnie Henderson, and Robin Henderson; and sister Liane Thompson. He was preceded in death by his father, Marlyn Henderson and sister Lori House.
Bob was born June 14, 1949, the son of Marlyn and Catherine (White) Henderson in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He proudly served in the Marine Corps, which he entered in 1967. He served in Vietnam, earning the Navy Achievement medal, along with other medals and honors. Bob’s service in the Marines and involvement with the VA and various Veterans groups, was a constant source of pride in his life. Bob was a former Deputy for the Linn County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids and Marion B.A.S.S. Masters Club and made lifelong friends through this organization.
