Robert Ivan Davis, 41, of Manchester, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 18, in his home, of a sudden illness. Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 20 at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
Bob was born May 2, 1961, in Iowa City, to Harlan Bray and Hazel Davis. Bob graduated from West Delaware High School in 1979. On April 14, 1986 he married Diana L. Nuss in Manchester, the couple later divorced. Bob was employed with Ertl?s Toy Company until it closed in 1992. Bob then attended Kirkwood obtaining a degree in Health and Safety. He also worked at Peerless Chain in Manchester, at Alltrista, formerly Triangle Plastics, in Winthrop and most recently at Dyersville Die Cast. Bob was an EMT with the Regional Medical Center, Manchester, since August of 1983.
Bob enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends, watching horror movies and listening to his favorite rock group KISS.
Bob is survived by his mother, Hazel Davis of Manchester; his father Harlan Bray, of Clinton, Iowa; two daughters, Kara Lynn Davis of Greeley and Krista Marie Davis of Manchester; two step-daughters, Kassandra Lee Nuss and Kayla Ann Nuss and her friend Michael Oltmanns, all of Manchester; one grandson, Rhinhart Oltmanns of Manchester; and his mother-in-law, Doris Nuss of Manchester.
Bob was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bernard Nuss, in 1989.
A memorial fund has been established in Bob's honor.
