Robert “Buck” William Steadman, 83, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at St Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and private family services will be held at a later date.
Buck was born on July 18, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Clarence and Lovena (Kessler) Steadman. He married the love of his life, Marlene Louise Herman, on June 3, 1961, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha, Iowa. He retired in 2008 from Brown & Dyer as a heavy equipment operator. Attending dirt track races brought him great joy, particularly when his son, Dick, was on the track. He found joy in hunting and fishing, appreciated the beauty of nature, and cherished spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Marlene Steadman; sons, Robert (Claudia) Steadman and Richard Steadman; grandchildren, Ahren, Christopher (Jessica), and Michael (Megan); great-grandchildren, Abigail and Annabella; sister, Charlotte Brown; special cousin, Nancy Africa; sister-in-law, Donna Jons; and brother-in-law, Charlie Herman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Betty Bellon and Joyce Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to his family.
