Robert "Bob" Alan Ray

Bob Ray, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Murdoch Funeral Home in Marion. A time of sharing will begin at 11:00 a.m.
Robert Alan Ray grew up in Manchester and graduated from Maquoketa Valley High where he met his wife, Diane. They were married in 1970 and moved to Marion in 1972.
Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diane; his children, Jeremy Ray (Mona) of Missouri, Jason Ray (Cammy) of Colorado, Jessica Ray (Miranda) of Wisconsin; five grandchildren, Michaela, Jacob, Alec, Elliott, Elexus; his brother, Bruce Ray (Myra) of Cedar Rapids. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Decklar, and his first son, Todd.
Bob was a proud carpenter. He loved taking something and making it into something new. He worked hard all his life and made everyone laugh with his stories; you know the ones.
