Robert Roscoe “Bob” Kinkead, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died at St. Luke’s Hospital on March 1, 2009. The family will greet friends from 5 ?" 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion, where memories of Bob will be shared at 6 p.m. Per Bob’s request, dress will be casual. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Kinkead; two sons, Michael (Marian) Kinkead of Arkansas, Randy (Karen) Kinkead of Illinois; daughter, Jeannette Kinkead (Miro) Moore of Illinois; four grandchildren, Samantha, Travis, Christopher, Johnathan; and one great-grandson, Kaleb.
Also surviving are ten brothers and sisters: Doris Kinkead Erickson, Judith Kinkead Faaborg Woods, Ronald Kinkead, Jim Kinkead, Faye Wade, David Kinkead, Peggy Dejong, Bill Burgess, John Frazier, and Kathy Doctorman.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kimberly Kinkead, who died in infancy.
Bob was born July 20, 1941, in Iowa City, to George and Mildred (Grimm) Kinkead. He was raised in North English and Fairfax, and later moved to Cedar Rapids. He was married to Dolores Dart on July 20, 1972, in Cedar Rapids. He worked for Rockwell Goss and was a plumber for many years.
