Robert Francis "Bob" Kennedy

Robert “Bob” Francis Kennedy, 85, a resident of ManorCare Health Services in Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Friends may call from 9:30 until service time on Saturday. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Surviving is his brother, Ken Kennedy, a resident of the Abbe Center in Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert was born February 22, 1923, the son of Ralph and Laura (Watson) Kennedy in Davenport. He worked for Armstrong’s Department Store, Wilson’s Packing House and Cherry Burrell.
Bob was well known as a past state checkers champion. He loved animals and traveling, seeing much of the United States. Bob also enjoyed time spent with his brother.
