Robert Blosch, 74, of Hiawatha, passed away February 26, 2016, at Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. Memorial Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the funeral home.
Robert was born on November 6, 1941, in Manchester, Iowa, son of William and Margaret (Klink) Blosch. He married Edna Kauffman on September 7, 1963, together they had two daughters. The couple farmed in Manchester. He then went to work for Quaker Oats, retiring in 2001. Robert enjoyed fishing, golfing, going to his grandchildren’s musicals and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Eagles Club and an honorary member of the AMVETS.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Wendy (Edward) Zehr of Manchester, Iowa, Cozette “Cozy” (Don) Goldsmith of Humbolt, Iowa; grandchildren, Matthew and Mitchell Zehr, Dallas Goldsmith; sister, Iva (Jon) DeSmidt of Cedar Falls, Iowa; sister in-law, Jackie Blosch of Manchester, Iowa; and a dear friend, Al Lathrop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret; granddaughter, Sophia Marie Goldsmith; and brother, Edwin.
