Robert Barger
August 20, 1927 — October 15, 2016
Robert Barger, 89, of Marion, formerly of Manchester, entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Respecting Bob’s wishes, no visitation or service will be held. Private family burial will be at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Bob worked at Barger’s Shoe Store in Manchester before and after military service in the Army from 1945-1947. After marriage, he started Barger Construction until retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Anita; son, Denny (Shirley) Barger of Midlothian, Virginia; daughter, Denna Kris Vanourny of Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren, Corey Barger of San Diego, California and Sara Vanourny and Allison Vanourny of Cedar Rapids.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Meritt and Martha Barger and a brother, Bill Barger.
