Rita K. Roeder, 49, of 3000 J Street SW, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, September 4, 2004, at St. Luke?s Hospital of complications from a heart attack. Services: 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at Hope Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Dan Clark-Bridges. Friends may call from 12:00-6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, at the church. Friends may also call 2-5 p.m., on Wednesday, September 8, 2004, at Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home in Lansing with graveside services 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; her children, Rebecca Joens and husband Jason of Ely and Robin Ainesworth and husband Nic of Belle Plaine; her mother, Minerva of Viroqua, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Johnathon, Haley, Emma and Katie; a brother, Bruce Myhre and wife Kathy of Stoddard, Wisconsin; a sister, Sheila Jacobson and husband Edward of Westby, Wisconsin, Eunice Erickson of DeSoto, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Palmer "Tubby? Myhre and special family friend Kenny Erickson.
Rita was born February 11, 1955, in Viroqua, Wisconsin, the daughter of Palmer "Tubby? and Minerva (Maker) Myhre. She married Robert Roeder on June 2, 1973, in DeSoto, Wisconsin. Rita worked in sales at Batteries Included. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church where she was very active and also a Soroptimist member.
