Rita Rae Dougherty

Rita Rae Dougherty, 53, of 5544 Klinger Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, December 01, 2005, in her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 5, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, Iowa, by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. The family will greet friends from 2-6 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial: Walker Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis; three brothers, Gary (Phyllis) Williams of Cedar Rapids, Larry (Julie) McCalley of Springville, and Mark (Kathy) McCalley of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Linda Kniffen, Jean Cottrell, and Jane McCalley all of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews; and grand nieces and grand nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Rita was born June 20, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Viola (Rowray) McCalley. On June 19, 1995, she was united in marriage to Dennis Dougherty in Cedar Rapids.
