Rita Lucille Bees, 80, of Manchester, formerly of Buck Creek and Hopkinton, Iowa, died Friday morning, October 10, 2003 at the Regional Medical Center, Manchester following a brief illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Manchester, Iowa with Lenley G. Davis and Marti Montovani officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2003 at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour prior to services at the church.
Rita Lucille Bees was born on November 4, 1922, in Cascade, Iowa, the daughter of Ernestt and Ella F. (Lindsey) Bees. She grew up in the Hopkinton and Buck Creek areas and graduated from Buck Creek High School. Rita lived on a farm before retiring to Hopkinton. Rita moved to Manchester in 2000 to made her home with her nephew, Wayne Huggins. She enjoyed games, reading, and attending the senior meal site.
She was a long-time member of the Hopkinton Methodist Church and a current member of the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Manchester.
Survivors include a nephew, Wayne Huggins of Manchester and a great-nephew, David Huggins of Dallas, Texas.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Bees; and two sisters, Elsie (Bees) Willard and Irene (Bees) Huggins.
Memorials in Rita?s memory can be given to Operation Christmas Child care of Evangelical Free Church in Manchester.
