Ricky G "Rick" Schmidt

Ricky G. Schmidt, 56, formerly of Delhi, Iowa died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Austin, TX, from cancer.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 4 at the Delhi United Methodist Church by Rev. Lorraine Hartman. Family will greet friends from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday, August 3 at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home, Earlville, Iowa, and for one hour before services on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Delhi.
Rick was born June 21, 1953, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Elmer “Bill” and Marion (Schnittjer) Schmidt. He graduated from the Maquoketa Valley School System in 1972. Rick moved to Austin, Texas nearly 25 years ago and was employed by Lauren Concrete as a concrete salesman.
Rick love his job and his many friends at Lauren Concrete. He enjoyed skeet shooting with the guys and riding his Harley. He was also an avid animal lover.
Rick is survived by his siblings, Laurie (Randy) Kramer of Delhi, Marcia (Al) Huntley of Bend, OR and Bill Johnson of Portage, WI and two nieces, Sydney and Elise Johnson also of Portage.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer “Bill” and Marion (Schnittjer) Schmidt.
