Richard “Rick” D. Lacy Sr., 45, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away quietly into eternity, Saturday, March 2, 2013, surrounded by his family and friends, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Pastor Phil Foster. Family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his mother, Joyce (Lacy) Clark of Cedar Rapids; children, Richard (Michelle Prenosil) Lacy Jr. of Marion, Jacob Lacy of Cedar Rapids, Dawn (Matt) Cook of Spanaway, WA and Tiffany (Michael Dittmar) McNabb of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Keygyn, Preston, Khloe, Ava, Gino, Karmyn, Madilyn and Zavier; sister, Marie Bean of Marion; lifelong best friends, Bruce Conway, Roman Routhe and Jimmy Routhe; aunt, Ellen Lingo of Cedar Rapids; and cousins.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Richard Bean; step father, John Clark; sister, Christina Bean; grandparents, Mildred and Sam Drumond, Larry Cox Jr. and Walter and Opal Lacy; and a nephew, Cory Sutton.
Rick was born on March, 22, 1967, in Cedar Rapids, son of Richard Bean and Joyce (Lacy) Clark. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School. Rick worked at Swiss Valley Farms, until 2008 and most recently at Goodwill Industries. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to AC/DC and Sunday morning Polka. Rick liked NASCAR and was an avid Tony Stewart fan. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. Rick loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was a gentle soul who tried to find good in everything and rarely met a stranger. He will be sadly missed by many.
