Richard Lee Powers, 66, a resident of Living Center West, died at St. Luke?s Hospital, Wednesday, June 4, 2003, after a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids by the Rev. Parker Knoll. Friends may call on Sunday, June 8, 2003, from 1-5 pm, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Ricky, Tammy, Kathy, Dale and Richelle Ray; his sisters, Shirley M. (Donald) Kaplan of Cedar Rapids, Geraldine M. (Emerson) Hough of Hiawatha and Karen J. (Donald) Denzler of Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother, Keith.
Richard was born May 5, 1937, the son of George W. and Esther M. Goede Powers. He worked as welder and a mechanic.
A memorial fund has been established.
