Richard A. Foreman, 75, of 104 2nd Avenue, Hiawatha, died Friday, April 30, 2004, at home following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Monday, May 3, 2004, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; his children, Kay Petersen and husband Pete of Shellsburg, Richard Foreman and Terri of Dayton, Illinois, Jean Eby of Hiawatha, Marie Sullivan and husband Guy of Cedar Rapids, Clayton Foreman and wife Deb of Toddville, and Bill Foreman and wife Val of Hiawatha; his siblings, Florence Sweazey of Winterset, Iowa, Ruth Marie Thompson of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Clifford Foreman of Newton, Iowa, and Mildred Petroff and husband Al of Shoreview, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Glenn Hyde, Roy Hyde, Robert Hyde and Clayton Foreman; his sisters, Helen Tirpak and Charlotte Murphy; 2 grandsons; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Richard was born May 23, 1928, the son of Richard Addison and Hazel Ressie (VanHorne) Foreman in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He married Sylvia Lou Orebaugh on April 23, 1947, in Pueblo, Colorado. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Richard worked for Colonial Bakery, Willman Construction and S&S Property Service. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, long walks and visiting friends. Richard was a very social, hardworking and honest person and lived life to the fullest. He received great joy from his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
