Richard Dean Fleming aka “Red Dog”, 66, of Lisbon, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. The family will greet friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the funeral home in Central City. Burial: Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.
Survivors include his wife, Annita; three children, Richard Fleming (Deb Elledge), Lisa Fleming (Rick Gilliland), and Michael (Chandra) Fleming; six grandchildren, Arealle “Boogie”, Ashlee’Jo, Elijah, Shyanne, Abbigail, and Allissa; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Dominick, Bailey, and son-to-be Liem; a sister, Edith Taylor; adopted family members Heather, Shaylee, Jessica, Raiden, Grayson, Myleigh and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and nine siblings.
Richard was born on April 28, 1948, in Central City, to Joseph and Ada (Taylor) Fleming. On October 14, 1967, he was united in marriage to Annita Morris at the United Church of Christ in Central City. Richard worked at Slater’s Auto Body for several years. He loved to fish, hunt mushrooms, go canoeing and “old cars”.
