Richard “Dick” Still, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was called home on Thursday, January 19, 2017, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Dick’s Life: 1-4 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017, at the Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, Cedar Rapids. The family requests to please wear your favorite Iowa Hawkeye, Chicago Bears or Cubs, fishing or bowling attire.
Survivors include his children, David (Christine) Still, Linda (Douglas) Kobusch and Mary (John) Naylor; grandchildren, Brianna, Chelsea, Anthony, Corey, Mason, Rebecca and Jaxson; great-grandchildren, Liam, Connor, Tristan and Aspen; his significant other, Barb Lucky; and sister-in-law, Rose (Glenn) Maas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Lois; and sister, Patricia Hoagge.
Dick was born on April 14, 1934, in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Ellis “Pat” and Leona (McMenomy) Still. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. On June 24, 1955, Dick married Lois Olson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy, Iowa. He was a meat cutter, retiring from Hy-Vee after 50 plus years of employment. He attended Stonebridge Church in Cedar Rapids. Dick was an avid Cubs fan and his life dream was to see the Cubs win the World Series. Thank you Chicago Cubs!
