Richard “Dick” Clark, 75, of Hiawatha, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 9 – 11 a.m., Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Celebration of Life: 11:00 a.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet, of Hiawatha; children, Sherril Harris of Cedar Rapids, Jeff (Meltem) Clark of California, and Lisa (Dave) Hinton of Ely; grandchildren, Amber, Dena, Caleb, Landry, Riston, Tarkan, Weston, and Kaylynn; brother, Lloyd Clark of Cedar Rapids; sister, Susan Keleher of New York; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law, Anna Mae Clark.
Dick was born July 15, 1941, the son of Arthur and Florence (Leighr) Clark. He graduated from Marion High School in 1959. On September 24, 1960, at the Methodist Church in Marion, he married his high school sweetheart, Janet Frederick. Dick worked at Rockwell Collins for 13 years, then at Rockwell-Goss before owning and operating Clark’s Transmission. Dick was a great auto mechanic, specializing in transmissions. He was a car collector and NASCAR race fan. He enjoyed traveling with Janet. Dick loved his family very much, and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Dick’s memory has been established.
