Rhonda Lou (Sauer) Snow Newman of Manchester, formerly of Cedar Rapids, born to Ronald and Arlean Lillian (Johnson) Lloyd Sauer, on August 17, 1951, was delivered to heaven after a long illness on Thursday, January 10, 2008. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2008, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Cedar Rapids, where the family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Rhonda is survived by her children, Chad Snow of Tipton and Amber Snow of Cedar Rapids; her sibilings, Larry Lloyd, Penny (Bud) Scolaro, Sharon (Monty) Barton, Sandy (Monty) Rierson, Kathy (Mark) McCalley, all of Cedar Rapids, Lou (John) Serbousek of Swisher and Judy (Kent) Bunn of Boise, Idaho.
Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Jean St. Paul (JP) Cooper, Jr., Yazmin Sienna Cooper, Darian Trivette Medlock, Chloe Lorene Michalec, and Landry Jay Medlock; and her newest addition, great-grandson, YaShaun Ferguson. We were all blessed by the fact that Rhonda was able to catch her first glimpse of this small wonder shortly before her way to heaven. She also had many loving nieces and nephews whom she was very proud, as well as many other children Rhonda called her own, including Melody Morgan of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Arlean Sauer; sister, Connie Broderson; brother, Newton Lloyd; and nephews, Jeffery and Ronald Rierson.
Rhonda was a 1969 graduate from Prairie High School and received her Cosmetology degree from Paris Academy. She worked at DAEC during the shut down as well as a home health aid and telemarketer before her health failed.
If you were to ask people what they will remember most, they will tell you Rhonda’s smile, her giving and loving heart, and her insatiable need to take care of everyone! She uniquely touched every person’s heart she ever met. Rhonda was the first person to remind all of us to trust in our heavenly father and always look to him for strength.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Boom, Manchester Regional Medical Center and the many people who gave freely of their time to help make Rhonda’s life easier. We would also like to thank Rhonda’s very special niece, Donna, who in many times was Rhonda’s life line and to her special friend, Deb of Manchester.
Rhonda was an organ donor.
