Survivors include his brother, Russell (Jackie) Glasgow of Oregon; two nephews, Aaron and Nathan; and many wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Rosella Glasgow.

Rex was born on January 1, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Marion High School, and then enlisted in the military and was assigned to the United States Army Security Agency as a Military Policeman. He was very proud to have served his country and enjoyed his travels to Europe and Germany during his service.

Rex spent 10 years with the Civil Air Patrol - U.S. Air Force Auxiliary, which was one of his proudest accomplishments. He served as a Squadron, Wing/ State and Region Commander. Rex enjoyed the many friends he made and experiences he had. During his time with the CAP, he earned several certifications including Incident Commander and Air/Ground Search and Rescue. Most of all, he enjoyed training personnel and teams for future success.

Rex was a Certified Pilot (SEL) with over 400 hours (PIC time) and a Certified Scuba Diver (PADI). He was also an avid Red Cross volunteer, an EMT, Ham Radio Operator (KBOWHH), and an NRA Pistol, Safety & Reloading Instructor. Rex loved to help others and being involved in his community.

Rex was self-employed in the Real Estate and Property Management sector for much of his life, but will always be remembered to many of us as the local icon and friendly guy on the floor at Super Skate in Cedar Rapids. Countless kids and teens spent their weekends and evenings at the roller rink anxiously awaiting Rex’s magic words: "ALL-SKATE".

His gentle, selfless soul will be missed. Fly high, Rex…..
