Raymond G. Wohlers, 81, of Marion, died, Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, following a brief illness. The family will greet friends from 2 - 4 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Beginning at noon on Monday, February 11, 2008, light refreshments will be served to family and friends at Echo Hill Presbyterian Church, 1700 B Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the church and will be officiated by Rev. Duane Hix. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Survivors include two sons, Brian (Jody)Wohlers of Marion and Bruce (Denise) Wohlers of Waterloo; three sisters, Norma Wunder of Storm Lake, Kathleen (Tom) Kunasek of Springfield, Missouri, and Luella (Bill) Wolff of Pittsburg, Kansas; a brother, Howard (Barbara) Wohlers of Omaha, Nebraska; and four grandchildren, Laura, Benjamin, Jessica, and Katherine Wohlers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and three sisters, Wanda Jansen, Delores Holstein, and Ivadelle Gerry.

Raymond was born February 7, 1926, the son of George and Caroline Wohlers in Neola, Iowa. He married Dorothy Jeanne Beckner of May 22, 1954, in Marion. She died July 13, 1998. Raymond was a watchmaker in downtown Cedar Rapids and later a circuit board plater at Rockwell Collins until his retirement.

Raymond was a member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.
