Raymond L. "Crazy Ray? "Mr. Bo Jangles? Brady, 77, a resident of Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids, died there Monday, September 11, 2006, following a short illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Bill Harnish. The family will greet friends from 1:00 until service time at the funeral home on Friday. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Rae Jean Brady-Elson of Marion, Marlene Brady of Cedar Rapids and Richard Brady of Marion; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill (Velma) Brady of Arizona, and Bob Brady of Utah; his children?s mother, Shirley Galloway of Cedar Rapids; many nieces and nephews in Arizona, Chicago and Florida; a stepdaughter, Shirley Wilgenbusch of Springfield, Illinois; and a stepson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant grandson, Troy Elson; and two sisters, Marlys Consalvo and Marlene.
Raymond was born November 22, 1928, the son of Everett and Gladys (Wildhagen) Brady, in Iowa City, Iowa. For 30 years, he drove a cab for Yellow Cab and also worked at Barron Motors. Raymond enjoyed sewing and playing the organ. He was a big sweetheart who made friends wherever he went.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Raymond.
