Ramona J. (Post) Curtis, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2008, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a brother, Claude “Buster” Post of Siren, Wisconsin; two stepchildren, Dennis (Chris) Curtis of Cedar Rapids and Cathy (Ron) Zimmerman of Marion; her nephews and nieces, Ricky (Pam) Post of Martelle, Randy (Michelle) Post of Dubuque, Roxanna (Loren) Conley of Mount Vernon and Claudette (Butch) Walker of Marion; ten stepgrandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; 10 great-nieces and nephews; 14 great-great-nieces and nephews; and special friend, Phyllis Daughtery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Homer.
Ramona was born September 29, 1929, the daughter of Garrett and Nettie (Williams) Post, in Mechanicsville, Iowa. On October 21, 1994, she was united in marriage to Homer Curtis at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died February 21, 2008. Ramona worked for Security Corporation of Iowa, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed traveling and eating out with her family and friends.
