Ralph Reinhardt Raue, 94, of Walker, died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha. Services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2011, at Walker United Methodist Church, by Rev. Norm Kelley. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at the church. Burial: Walker Cemetery, Walker. Arrangements with Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Walker.
Survivors include a son, Jack Raue of Walker; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kip) Wescott, Amanda Raue, both of Cedar Rapids, Chauncey (Brittany) Raue and Crystal Raue, both of Walker; and two great-grandsons, Waylon and Isaac Raue.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Orlena; eight brothers; and three sisters.
Ralph was born March 7, 1917, the son of Henry and Anna Raue, in Blairstown, Iowa. On April 17, 1940, he was united in marriage to Orlena Floyd in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She died December 29, 2003. Ralph enjoyed farming, raising livestock and shelling corn for 52½ years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. All will miss his legendary wink and bear hugs. Ralph will be missed dearly.
