Phyllis J. Schutzman, 90, of Toddville, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at Northbrook ManorCare. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial at Dunkard Cemetery, Midway, Iowa.
Phyllis was born November 27, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Ada (Volesky) Langer. She attended high school in Ely, Iowa. After high school, she co-owned and worked at Midway Farmer’s Market in Toddville. Phyllis was joined in marriage to Ivan Earl Schutzman on August 10, 1949, in Nashua, Iowa. She enjoyed needle point and embroidery, gardens, and flowers. Phyllis was a die-hard Cubs fan.
She will be missed by many and she always went the extra mile to help everyone in the grocery store.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Scott) Naylor of Center Point; Son, Rod (Joanie) Schutzman of Marion; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ivan; and sister, Betty Moses.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
