Phyllis "Sue? Kolsto, 56, of 1120 Summit Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, December 25, 2003, in her home, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2003, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; her children, Kimberly (Paul Rieff) Kolsto, Kathryn (Chad) Szabo, Daniel (Melissa) Kolsto, and Kristin (Jason) Tapken, all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, April Rieff, Kirra, Kastan and Kailen Kolsto, and Josiah and Zachariah Szabo; two sisters, Stephanie Mohr and Al of Cedar Rapids and Penny (Jerry) Lundeen of Bettendorf, Iowa; a stepbrother, Phillip Alexander of Seattle, Washington; a sister-in-law, Carol DeVilder of Brooklyn, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Barbara Kolsto of Cedar Rapids; and an aunt, Jean Beers of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Masie Beers; and a sister, Evelyn Fullmer.
Phyllis was born August 11, 1947, the daughter of Edward and Guyda Milstead Beers, in Kansas City, Missouri. On June 21, 1969, she was united in marriage to Larry Kolsto in Cedar Rapids. Phyllis was a wonderful cook who loved to take care of the grandkids and enjoyed the cabin on the Cedar River. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
