Phyllis F. Crosier, 80, of Manchester, Iowa, died early Thursday morning, February 12, 2004, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Golden United Church of Christ, rural Ryan, with Rev. Mona Burns officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, where family will be present until 4:00 p.m. and for one hour before services on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Upper Bay Cemetery in rural Delhi, Iowa.

Phyllis was born January 28, 1924, in rural Delhi, Milo Township, Iowa, the daughter of Roy S. & Julia Leah (Revell) Crosier. She received her education in the Upper Bay country school and graduated from the Delhi High School in 1941. When in high school, Phyllis wrote a short story that was published in local papers. Phyllis attended Lennox College in Hopkinton and obtained a business degree. While there, she wrote the song "Nellie,? which was copy written. She then helped on the family farm. After her father passed away in 1949, Phyllis stayed with her mother on the farm until 1961 when they moved to Manchester. In February of 2003, Phyllis moved into the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.

Phyllis was a member of the Golden Congregational Church in Ryan where she also taught Bible school. She was a member of the Women?s Club of Manchester. She enjoyed doll collecting and gardening.

Phyllis is survived by her sister, Dorothea Daniels of Cedar Rapids; her brother Lester Crosier at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood; and niece and nephew, Patricia Henrich and David Daniels.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Roy S. & Julia Crosier.
