Phyllis A. Caton, 71, of 439 Lindale Drive, died Monday, March 17, at her home, following a sudden illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2003, at First Baptist Church - Church of the Brethren in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Jerry Springston. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion and one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside services: 3:30 p.m. Monday at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden in Dixon, Illinois.
Survivors include a brother, James Sink and wife Judith of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister, Freda DuBois of Bettendorf; and six grandchildren, Kenneth, Christina, Patrick and Amanda Frost and Thomas and Andrew Caton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Kevin, Howard and Robert; a daughter, Kathy; a sister; and a brother.
Phyllis was born June 1, 1931, the daughter of William and Cora (Boyer) Sink in Ewing, Illinois. On April 11, 1952, she married Howard Caton, Jr. in Dixon, Illinois. He died August 13, 1982. Phyllis was employed at St. Luke?s Hospital in the Medical Transcription Department for over ten years.
