Phillip J. Tinker, 85, of 620 3rd Ave. E, formerly of Coggon, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, following a short illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2008, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Coggon by Father Wayne Droessler. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City where a rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. Burial: Coggon Cemetery.
Survivors include two brothers, Jack (Gladys) Tinker of Manchester and Frank (Shirley) Tinker of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; a sister, Mary Ellen Capesius of LaMotte; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas and Joseph.
Phillip was born August 11, 1922, the son of Edward and Margaret (Wiley) Tinker in Greeley. Phillip was a self-employed truck driver for many years primarily hauling livestock for the Coggon sale barn.
