Phillip D. Malone, 75, of Marion, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Memorial Service: 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 3 – 5 p.m., prior to the service on Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, Mona; his children, Brandy Joyner, Dennis (Courtnee) Malone, and Dan (Stacie) Reed; 8 grandchildren; 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 brother.
Phillip was born September 29, 1934, the son of Dennis and Josephine (Sands) Malone, in Dundee, Iowa. He married Mona Reed on October 12, 1991, in Coggon, Iowa. Phillip served in the U.S. Army for 5 years. Phillip was employed at LeFebure as an electronic technician until his retirement. He was a handyman who loved the outdoors and especially his grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Veridian Credit Union in Phillip’s memory.
