Philip A. Gazur, 59 of 1715 C Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, December 12, 2004, in his home, following a short illness. Services: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 16, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Gary Dobbins. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, prior to the service. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors.

Survivors include his daughters, Pamela Kopel and husband Jack and Jodi Clark and husband Chad, both of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Philip and Betty Gazur, Sr., of Raymond, Washington; his former wife, Tena Gazur of Cedar Rapids; his girlfriend, Kim Hill of Cedar Rapids; a special friend, Kirk Bendixsen of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Anna and Ashley Kopel and McCain Clark; a sister, Toni Snell and husband Jim of Camano Island, Washington; and nephews, Cameron, Collin and Jared Swisher.

Phil was born July 11, 1945, the son of Philip and Betty (Gideon) Gazur, in Raymond, Washington. He lived in Lynnwood, Washington and attended Mt. Lake Terrace High School. On November 22, 1968, he married Tena (Meloan) Friederichs in Lynwood, Washington and made their home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They later divorced. Phil served in the Army as a Military Policeman for three years. He worked for Penford Products Company and Cedar Rapids Inc. until his illness. Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He loved sprint car racing and had many great times with his friends at Knoxville.
