Peggy Ann Rabik (Schmidt)

Peggy A. Rabik, 54, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, as a result of lung cancer. Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 16, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Cecil Ballard. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; mother, Hazel Schmidt of Cedar Rapids; sons, Chad Babor of Cedar Rapids and Jason Babor of Sioux City; her brother, Tim (Geri) Schmidt of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Sandy (Steve) Daringer and Chris (Dave) Truesdell both of Cedar Rapids; aunt, Myrna Pettit of Colorado; her in-laws, Stanley and Freda Rabik of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Curtis Schmidt; and brother, Jeff Schmidt.
Born December 10, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Peggy was the daughter of Curtis and Hazel (Terry) Schmidt. On July 22, 1988, she was united in marriage to Larry Rabik in Cedar Rapids. She worked in the insurance business.
Some of Peggy’s joys were cooking and camping and she loved hummingbirds.
Peggy’s favorite saying was “Don’t fear the future ‘cuz God’s already there”.
