Pauline B. Sands-Thompson, 88, of Manchester, died on March 16, 2005 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following a long illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 18 at the Manchester United Methodist Church by Rev. Roger Henry. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester and one hour before services Friday at the church. There will be a V.F.W. Auxiliary service at 3:00 p.m. and Order of Eastern Star at7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Manchester.

Pauline was born on November 1, 1916, the daughter of Thomas E. and Beulah (Flaucher) Lee in Lamont. She attended Thorpe Country School, Dundee School and graduated from Earlville High School in 1935. On February 15, 1936 Pauline married Millard Kennedy and they later divorced. She married Philip C. Sands on March 17, 1942 in Lancaster, Missouri. Philip died June 20, 1977. Pauline then married Wayne D. Thompson on December 10, 1987 in Manchester. Wayne died March 4, 1993. Pauline worked as a housewife, waitress and farmed.

Pauline was a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America, Ladies Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles, V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Association of Retired Persons, and the Fraternal Order of the Eastern Star, Declaration Chapter of Independence.

Pauline is survived by a son, Gary L. (Penny) Sands of Delhi; two step-daughters, Thelma (Dick) Jacobs of Marion and Marilyn (Merlyn) Lange of Hopkinton; two grandchildren, Susan Sands (Travis Crippen) of Manchester and Mitchell Sands of Delhi; seven step-grandchildren, Tim Jones of Cedar Rapids, Mike Jones and Pat Jones, both of Marion, Cindy Anderson of Lake Alamo, MN, Gary Lange of Dyersville, Rick Lange of Hopkinton and Scott Lange of Cherokee; two great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Beulah Lee; husbands, Philip Sands and Wayne Thompson; two brothers, Claude Lee and her twin, Paul Lee; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Sands.
