Pauline Dake, 94, a resident of The Meth-Wick Community, died Monday, November 03, 2003, at St. Luke?s Hospital, after a long and happy life. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by Rev. Nick Longworth. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery, rural Coggon.

Survivors include her children, Raymond (Rosemary) Dake of Fairfield, Evalyn (Ron) Moorehead of Maple Valley, Washington, Mary Lou Bell of San Antonio, Texas, Dorothy (Dean) Locke of Coggon, Lois Sparks of State Center, Iowa, Delbert (Elizabeth) Dake of Marion and Nancy Pasker of Marion; a sister, Marie Kothman of St. Cloud, Minnesota; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; three grandsons; and a great-grandson.

Pauline was born March 31, 1909, the daughter of Sherman W. and Henrietta (Bogle) Trego in rural Shellsburg. She was proud to have been a farmer her entire life.

Pauline was an active member of Spring Grove United Methodist Church in Coggon, a member of the Farm Bureau, was a counselor for MYF, and cooked at YMCA Camp Wapsi for many years. Pauline was a member of the Linn County Dairy Herdsman Association.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association of Iowa or to the Alzheimer?s Association of East Central Iowa, in Pauline?s memory.
