Paula “Polly” M. Pearson, 63, of Marion, died Friday, November 6, 2009, at Linn Manor Care Center, Marion. Services: 4 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church, 1050 McGowan Blvd., Marion. Private family inurnment: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include 3 siblings, David (Ruthie) Pearson of Marion, Robert (Judy) Pearson of Cedar Rapids, and Jo (Gary) Hunerdosse of Cedar Rapids; 8 nieces and nephews and 6 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Polly was born August 28, 1946, the daughter of Kenneth and Marie (Koch) Pearson, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Alburnett High School in 1964, Central College in 1971 and Marycrest in 1977. Polly taught in Saguache, Colorado for 2 years then Alburnett Community School District for 32 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Friends of the Marion Library.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Marion Library Foundation, 1095 6th Ave., Marion, IA 52302 or the Alburnett School Library, 131 Roosevelt St., Alburnett, IA 52202.
