Paul L. Kessler, 66, of 72 Oklahoma Ave S.W., died Sunday, February 2, 2003, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids following heart failure and a long battle with Parkinson?s disease. Private services at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Karl Glovik. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife Betty of Cedar Rapids, a daughter, Michele Kessler Demory and her daughter Jess, of Cedar Rapids, a daughter, Lorie (Ron) Waite and their sons, Kaleb and Brock, of Summerfield, IL.; his mother, Dorothea (Miller) Kessler of Cedar Rapids, and a brother, David of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy LeForest Kessler.
Paul was born on September 9, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Roy LeForest and Dorothea (Miller) Kessler. He married Betty (Krumm) Kessler in 1957. Paul was an electrician for IBEW Local 405 for over 20 years and a car salesman. He cared a lot about his religion and was proud of his Catholic faith. Paul loved going to the stock car races and always saw the good in life. He was a greatly loved husband, father and grandfather. He was the best.
