Paul Robert Hauber, 58, of Atkins, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, following a sudden illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2006, at St. Jude?s Catholic Church, by Father Mark Reasoner. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; his children, Michael Hauber of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; James (Tascha) Hauber of Ames, Iowa, and Mary (Frank) Kelly of Marble Rock, Iowa; two grandchildren, David Hauber and Ryan Kelly; a brother, Gerald (Bette Ann) Hauber of Blue Grass, Iowa; and a sister, Sister Mary Hauber of Dubuque, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, William.
Paul was born March 16, 1948, the son of Paul and Geraldine (Krayer) Hauber, in Dubuque, Iowa. He served with the United States Army in Germany. On March 3, 1973, Paul was united in marriage to Linda Lou Tollefson. He worked for Linkbelt and then later for Goss in Cedar Rapids. A member of the VFW Post 788, Paul was an avid Cubs, Bears, Iowa Hawkeye fan and a five-year friend of Bill W.
