Paul Raymond Clark

Paul R. Clark, 84, of 309 Mitchell Street S.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, January 13, 2008, in Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a short illness. Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2008, at Grace Episcopal Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Paul A. Fuessel Jr. and Rev. Alice Haugan. Inurnment: Grace Episcopal Columbarium, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Norma; daughters, Cathy (Lynn) McGrath of Las Vegas, Nevada and Diana (Tom) Gundel of Bloomfield, Colorado; step-daughters, Dixie (David) Mitchell of Marion, Katrena (Steven) Hynek of Fairfax and Robin (Michael) Cimprich of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Catherine; and step-son, George Richard Glass.
Born on May 1, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Paul was the son of Arthur and Hazel (Webber) Clark. He served with the 8th Airforce during WW II and was a prisoner of war. He married Catherine Bachman in Virginia on March 3, 1945. She died on April 27, 1982. On November 6, 1982, he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Stoddard in Quasqueton, Iowa. Paul was a mechanical engineer for Rockwell Collins.
Paul was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, the V.F.W., D.A.V., American Legion Hanford Post #5 where he served as vice commander and participated in the American Legion Color Guard in Zapata, Texas.
Paul enjoyed woodworking and crafts, bird watching and always had a joke. He especially enjoyed his time in Texas fishing, buying fruit and managing the park grounds.
