Paul Boothe, 81, of Marion, formerly of Williamson, died Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Graveside Services: 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2002 at Chariton Cemetery, Chariton, Iowa, by Rev. Michael Kleeberger. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Jean of Marion; his children, John (Beverly) Boothe of Marion, Linda Boothe of Montgomery City, Missouri and Judy (John) Williams of Mason City; a sister, Juanita Stevenson of Albia; three grandchildren, Brian "Chester? Boothe, Jennifer Michler and Travis Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Camryn Boothe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, William and Walter.
Paul was born March 28, 1921, the son of Frank and Ida Mae (Whitlatch) Boothe in Williamson. On September 5, 1943, he married Jean Gray. Paul was a farmer all of his life. He was very active in his community of Williamson, serving formerly as Mayor and member of the school board, volunteer fire department and historical society. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Chariton.
