Patrick Vincent Nolan, 78, of 2520 21st Ave., died Monday, August 14, 2006, at home. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion by Rev. Greg Bahl. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion where a parish vigil service will begin at 6:00 p.m. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Nolan of Marion; his children, Tom Nolan of Marion, Jim (Patti) Nolan of Miami, Florida, Mike (Patty) Nolan of Hiawatha, Kaye Nolan (Doug Raplinger) of Coralville, Brian Nolan of Solan, Sue Nolan of Phoenix, Arizona, Bob Nolan of Miami, Florida and Anne Nolan of Chicago, Illinois; and seven grandchildren, Jacob, Maureen, Jack, Samantha, Ian, Erin, and Oskar.

Also surviving are his brother, Bob Nolan of Emmetsburg; and three sisters, Anita Keifer of Iowa City; Ruth (Dave) Rouse of Emmetsburg, and Jean Nolan of Algona.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John; and a sister, Marge.

Patrick was born October 28, 1927, in Emmetsburg, the son of John and Helen (Ford) Nolan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. On December 26, 1959, he married Carole Ann Reding at St. Joe, Iowa. He was a teacher, coach, and guidance counselor at Armstrong, Iowa and Linn-Mar Schools for thirty-six years, retiring in 1993.

Patrick was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or St. Luke?s Hospice in memory of Patrick.
