Patrick Joseph Driscoll, 60, of 7505 Normandy Dr NE, died Monday, July 21, 2008, of cancer, in his home, lovingly surrounded by his family. Visitation: Tuesday, July 22, 2008, 5:00 ?" 8:00 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 8300 C Ave. NE, Marion, with Pastor Nan Hirleman Aalborg officiating.

Pat is survived by his wife of 38 years, Theresa; two sons, Ryan and his wife, Kerry, of Roscoe, Illinois and Daniel and his wife, Katie, of North Liberty; a daughter, Beth Blue of Cedar Rapids; and five grandchildren, Mia and Tessa Driscoll of Roscoe, Illinois, Mac Driscoll of North Liberty, and Jackson and Sydney Blue of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Bill (Paulette) and Terry of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Bob Murray of Silverdale, Washington; an aunt and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pat was born July 5, 1948 in Cedar Rapids to William and Lenora (Kelley) Driscoll. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School in 1966 and a basketball scholarship recipient at Upper Iowa College (B.S. 1970). He received his M.A. from Northern Illinois University in 1973.

He married his high school sweetheart, Theresa Murray, on August 22, 1969 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

Pat is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Debra; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Myrna Murray; and brother-in-law, Mike Murray.

Pat was an elementary educator in Elgin, Illinois and an elementary school principal in Garnavillo. He later co-owned and operated a non-profit fundraising company, PBS Development and Sutton Homes. Most recently he was a project manager for Real Estate Equities.
Pat was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and Cedar Rapids Home Builder’s Association.

A sports enthusiast, Pat enjoyed spectator sports, golfing and fishing.

Pat’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a loving
husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His quiet ways and humor touched us all. He is loved greatly and will be dearly missed.
