Patricia J. Myers, 63, of 2003 Cach Lane, SW, Cedar Rapids, died Friday, August 24, 2007, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2007, at St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Tom McDermott. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 30, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a vigil service will begin at 5:30 p.m. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald; her daughters, Mary Myers, Rhonda Myers, both of Cedar Rapids and Anita (Jim) Bojan of McHenry, Illinois; two grandchildren, Madelynn Myers and Aviela J. Bojan; and her niece and nephews, Anne, John and Joe Chesmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Mary Ann Chesmore and Angie Suits.
Patt was born June 11, 1944, the daughter of Myron and Cecilia (Opat) Suits, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On February 9, 1963, she was united in marriage to Ronald W. Myers at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Patt worked at Rockwell Collins for 28 years.
Patt was an active member of St. Ludmila’s Catholic Church since 1977. She was a caring and giving person who donated a kidney to her daughter, Rhonda. Patt enjoyed traveling and being with her family. A wonderful, supportive wife, mother, friend, and a great role model, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of Iowa or Community Health Free Clinic in memory of Patt.
