Patricia Ann Mcdonell
January 4, 1939 — November 8, 2005
Patricia Ann McDonell, 66, of Coggon, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2005, at St. John?s Catholic Church in Coggon by Father Wayne Droessler. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. and a vigil service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Burial: Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Coggon.
Survivors include three daughters, Julie (Paul) of Cedar Rapids, Kelleen (Matt) of Cedar Rapids and Dana (Matt) of West Des Moines; a sister, Judy (Harold) Kolda of Central City; and eight grandchildren, Blake, Mackenzie, Patrick, Reba, Thomas, Katherine, Trenton and Lilliana; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Danny.
Pat was born January 4, 1939, the daughter of Leo "Kelly? and Alice (Holub) Wolfe in Anamosa. She graduated from Coggon High School and attended Mt. Mercy College. On June 18, 1960, she married Daniel J. "Danny? McDonell at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Prairieburg. He died December 11, 2002. Pat was a homemaker and also worked at Rockwell for many years. She was a member of St. John?s Catholic Church in Coggon and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Pat loved being with her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed bingo and going to Meskwaki, fishing and mushroom hunting and having coffee and visiting with friends. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Pat?s memory.
