Patricia M. Hinz (Bayne)

Patricia M. Hinz, 73, of 1401 Summit View Lane SE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, in her home, following a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Rev Thomas McDermott. The family will greet friends from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2007, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation, Cedar Rapids, where a vigil service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Visitation also will be one hour prior to service at the church on Tuesday. Burial: St. John?s Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Allen; her children, Michael (Shirley) Hinz of Solon, Jennifer (Randy) Boysen of Monticello, and Phillip Hinz of Hillister, Texas; nine grandchildren, Mandi, Brittney, Jacob, Mitchel, Ryan, Derrick, Matthew, Allie and Bonita; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph (Mary Jane) Bayne of Oregon and Dennis (Sandy) Bayne of Anamosa; and two sisters, Janice (Elmer) Jandik of Fairfax and Judy (LeRoy) Wood of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Stephen; and a granddaughter, Tiffany.
Patricia was born March 10, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Wilma (Marshall) Bayne in Iowa City, Iowa. A 1951 Monticello High School graduate, she was united in marriage to Allen Hinz on December 29, 1952. Patricia worked in the office for Rinderknecht Construction, retiring after 30 years of service. She was an active member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church and the church circle.
Patricia enjoyed her gardening and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. She loved her classical music, attending symphonies and most of all, being with her family.
