Patricia J. Dewees
January 8, 1941 — March 10, 2006
Patricia "Pat? J. DeWees, 65, of 102 Oak St., died Friday, March 10, 2006, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a sudden illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha by Father Neil Manternach. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: Friends Cemetery in Whittier.
Survivors include her son, Matt (Kris) DeWees of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Amy (Bill) Denn of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Francine (Maurice) Fenimore; a sister-in-law, Irene Dannar; in-laws, Ed (Mary) DeWees, Winifred (Curt) Cope and Don (Janet) DeWees; seven grandchildren, Michael, AJ, Daniel, Jacob, Austen, Tony and Courtnie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; a brother, Dean; and a grandson, Zachary.
Patricia was born January 8, 1941, the daughter of Clarence and Pauline (Zimmerman) Dannar in New Hampton, Missouri. She graduated from Westmar College in Le Mars. On August 25, 1961, she married Arnold "Jack? DeWees. He died August 16, 1990. Patricia retired in 2004 from Iowa Workforce Development Center as a Veterans Representative. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha, chairman of Christian Women?s Club, President of IAPES and member of the Bootin? Buddies.
