Pamela Ann Sparrgrove, 58, of 4501 E. Post Rd. SE, died Friday, November 16, 2007, at home, following a long illness. Memorial Service: 5:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007 at Ascension Lutheran Church by Rev. Linda Livingston. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 18 at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.

Survivors include her husband, Phil; her son, Dominic (Angie) of Parkersburg; her daughter, Keri (Brad) Campbell of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Mildred Gaulke of Marion; two grandchildren, Cloie and Corbin; her sister, Kris (Mike) Smith of Hudson; her brother, Carl (Judy) Gaulke of Manchester; her father-in-law, Dewey Sparrgrove; three brothers-in-law, Dewain, Bill, and Eric; four sisters-in-law, Cinda, Kristi, Debbie, and Karen; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Gaulke; her mother-in-law, Marge Sparrgrove; and her step-mother-in-law, Donna Sparrgrove.

Pam was born February 23, 1949, the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Peterson) Gaulke in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She graduated from Washington High School in 1967, received her bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University, and attended the University of Hawaii. On June 16, 1973, she married Philip Stephen Sparrgrove in Cedar Rapids. Pam taught school at Indian Creek Elementary in Marion for thirty-two years, where her mission was to help fourth graders love school while they learned. She was a member of Sigma Nu Sigma Sorority and Ascension Lutheran Church in Marion.

Pam loved life and was happiest when she was in the sun with family and friends. She lived her life with an endless energy that was contagious.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Pam’s memory.
