Olive M. White, 82, of Earlville, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester, following a lengthy illness.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am on Friday, June 23, 2006, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Earlville, with Rev. Herbert Tegeler officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, with a Scripture Service at 4:30 pm, at the Clifton-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Earlville. Visitation will also be after 9:00 am on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Olive was born on March 16, 1924, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Crubel) Sabers in Bloomington, Wisconsin. She attended schools in South Dakota and New Vienna. Olive worked as domestic help for area families. On September 27, 1943, Olive was united in marriage to Leo "Bud? W. White at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna. The couple farmed south of Earlville. Leo died on January 30, 2005.
Olive was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Earlville. She enjoyed farming with her husband. Olive liked to play cards, garden and bake.
Olive is survived by her seven children, Joanne Quinlan of Manchester, Dianne (Neil) O?Brien of Bellevue, Dan (Kay) White of Worthington, John White of Earlville; Marie (Rocky) Tibbott of Delaware and Dave White of Earlville and Paul (Cathy) White of Earlville; a daughter-in-law, Mary White of North Carolina; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; three sisters, Melaina Krapfl of Cedar Rapids, Alvina (Herb) Ries and Velma Ferricks, both of Dyersville; and a brother, LaVern (Ida Rose) Sabers of Earlville.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Elizabeth Sabers; her husband, Leo "Bud? White; two sons, Allen & Clarence White; a son-in-law, Harry Quinlan; a grandson, Chris Noel; three sisters, Mary Funke, Abbey Krapfl and Isabel Rubner; and three brothers, Lloyd, Clarence & Alfred Sabers.
In lieu of flowers, Olive requested memorials for a fund to be established in her honor.
