Olive P. Sacora Walker, 80, of Shellsburg, formerly of Center Point and Mt. Vernon, died Sunday, April 10, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a chronic illness. Services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by the Rev. John Caughron. The family will greet friends from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include her children, Luanna (Clarence) Hawkins of Vinton, Iowa, Terry (Janet) Sacora of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Randy (Rhonda) Sacora of Summerville, South Carolina; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Poulson of Swisher; and three sisters, Nadine Andersen of Hawkeye, Iowa; Donna McAtee of Van Horne, Iowa, and Carol Kelley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jerrold Brehm; two brothers, Elzo and William; and a sister, Leona.
Olive was born December 5, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Mary Parbs Poulson, in Quasqueton, Iowa. She married Gaylord Sacora and after 45 years they divorced. She then married Clarence Walker. They later divorced. A homemaker and childcare giver, Olive loved crocheting, gardening, fishing and crafting. A member of the First Christian Church in Center Point, she enjoyed church work and was an avid reader.
