Norton “Dee” Serbousek, 81, of Marion, died, Monday, July 7, 2008, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a battle with cancer. Per his wishes, Norton was cremated and no services will be held.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; a son, Michael (Judy) Serbousek of Vail, Colorado; a twin brother, Don (Marg) Serbousek of Daytona Beach, Florida and a brother, Leonard (June) Serbousek of Center Junction, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Ruth Ann Phelan and Mary Jane Thompson; and 1 brother, Kenneth Serbousek.
Dee was born October 13, 1926, the son of Alan and Della (Mead) Serbousek, in Center Junction, Iowa. He graduated from Center Junction High in 1945 and married Joyce Lange on November 20, 1950 at the “Little Brown Church” in Nashua, Iowa. Dee was a member of the American Legion Post #298 and the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.
Dee worked for Allis Chalmars and later for Harnischfegar and the Marion Parks Department for many years.
